This is stated in the message of the Turkish Embassy in Ukraine.
“According to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Republic of Turkey, in the first four months of 2019 211,804 Ukrainians visited Turkey, which is 13.82% more than in the same period of 2018. According to the results of the 1st quarter, Ukraine entered the top ten countries-leaders,” the message says.
The summer season is just beginning, and the resorts of the Mediterranean and Aegean coasts are already popular among holidaymakers.
Thus, in Antalya, in January-May 2019, the number of Ukrainian tourists reached 164,922 (an increase of 5.05%). And the resorts of Mugla (Fethiye, Marmaris, Dalaman, Bodrum) received 4,724 Ukrainians (the increase in tourist flow was 306%).
There is also a steady increase in tourist traffic to Istanbul: in January-April 116,112 tourists from Ukraine visited the city. It is 6.4% more than in the same period of the previous year.
“The first quarter of 2019 turned out to be very successful according to statistics for the main regions of both beach and sightseeing tourism. It is important to note that Ukrainians have become more interested in the historical and cultural monuments of Turkey, which is reflected in the high attendance rates of Istanbul, Cappadocia and other sightseeing destinations, ”commented Tourism Attaché of the Turkish Embassy in Ukraine Berat Yildiz.
The embassy noted that the total tourist flow to Turkey also shows growth.
"The number of foreigners who visited Turkey in January-April 2019 increased by 12.22% compared to the same period last year and amounts to 8,735,268 people," the diplomatic institution said.
