According to an online survey conducted at Liga.net in the summer of 2019 to determine which destinations are preferred by Ukrainian travelers, 63% of them have visited Asia and are planning to return.
For example, according to Kazakh airlines Air Astana, passenger traffic from Ukraine to Kazakhstan increased by 8% in the third quarter of 2019 compared to the same period in 2018.
The most popular Asian destinations among the Ukrainians were Bangkok, Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpur. Thailand's capital, Bangkok, attracts tourists not only with Buddhist temples and a rich culture, but also with a nightlife. Among the cities in which Ukrainians would like to visit, respondents most often called Bangkok. Hong Kong impresses with a harmonious combination of respect for ancient traditions and the mad rhythm of today's high-tech city. Kuala Lumpur is one of Asia's major business centers. Traveling outside the capital of Malaysia, the traveler is able to enjoy the exotic nature of the tropics.
According to the United Nations World Tourism Organization, in the first half of 2019, tourist flow to Asia and the Pacific increased by 6%, to the Middle East - by 8%. According to the State Border Service of Ukraine, this trend also applies to Ukrainians: Asia is the second most popular destination after Europe. In addition, Ukrainians are increasingly visiting Asia not only for tourism but also for business. In the future, it is expected that the percentage of business trips will grow.
