On the night of April 18-19, 2019, the leading airline of France, AigleAzur, made the first direct flight on the route Paris-Orly <> Kiev-Boryspil.
The second largest French air carrier AigleAzur made a new big step in implementing its development strategy and opened the first direct route to the capital of Ukraine from Paris-Orly. Kyiv direction will be integrated into the network of Europe and further - through connecting flights in cooperation with partners. It will open for passengers new options for planning long-haul routes to Asia, South America, and Africa. Regular flights between the airports of the two capitals are carried out three times a week. The flight is operated by Airbus A320 in two classes (12 places in Business Class and 168 places - in Economy Class).
Frants Ivlen, President and CEO of AigleAzur, said: “We are very pleased to present our Airbus A320 in Ukraine and thereby integrate Kyiv into our European network. We continue to write the history of the company, consolidating our historical lines and strengthening new development tools in Europe. The launch of this completely new service ideally corresponds to our goal - to unite the networks of medium freight traffic. And we are especially proud to be the first French airline to offer a direct connection between Orly Airport and Kyiv. So we give our passengers the opportunity to discover the capital of France and become even closer to Europe.”
Pavel Ryabikin, General Director of Boryspil MA, said: “At the end of 2018, Boryspil International Airport got the first place in the ranking of the International Airports Council (ACI Europe). We reached this mark due to the dynamic growth of passenger traffic by 19.4% among airports serving from 10 to 25 million passengers. The arrival of new airlines confirms that the world's interest in Ukraine is growing and it is gradually becoming one of the important points at the crossroads of European air routes. And the arrival of AigleAzur with its partner network, which provides flights to different regions of the planet, strengthens the reputation of Ukraine as a partner, and opens up new opportunities for both Ukrainians and passengers from around the world.”
In 2017, the European Union simplified the entry of Ukrainian citizens into the EU by establishing a visa liberalization regime for stays of less than three months. AigleAzur, being a pioneer company in uniting people and cultures, is especially proud to give a dynamic impulse to contacts between France and Ukraine, and offers its customers a variety of travel options.
In 2019, AigleAzur supports the 16th Festival “French Spring in Ukraine” as an official partner and invites everyone to enjoy French music, films, modern art in Kyiv and throughout Ukraine.
