The number of Ukrainian tourists who left abroad in the first half of 2018 increased by 3.3% compared with the same period in 2017 - 12.9 million people. This is reported by the press service of the Ministry of Economic Development of Ukraine.
In the first quarter of 2018, Ukrainians by 15.5% rarelier went abroad than in the first quarter of 2017 - 5.84 million people. However, in the second quarter, the number of foreign trips increased by 26.7% to 7.06 million people.
According to statistics, the leader of outbound tourism in the first half of 2018 remains Poland with a large margin - 4.81 million people, which is 10.9% higher than the index in the first half of 2017.
The second place remains Russia - 1.85 million people, but the flow there decreased by 30,9%. Hungary closes three of the most popular destinations among Ukrainian tourists - 1.54 million people, with an increase of 6.4%.
In the first five, neighboring Moldova and Belarus - 793.4 thousand and 627.8 thousand, respectively 5.2% and 10% higher than the index in the first half of 2017. Trips to Romania became more frequent - by 22.5%, to 564 thousand people.
However, an even better result showed Egypt - 43,7%, which, with a decrease in travelers to Turkey by 1,9%, gets around its competitor in popularity among Ukrainian tourists - respectively 503 thousand and 500,4 thousand people.
Slovakia and Germany close ten major foreign destinations for Ukrainians respectively 485.7 thousand people and 205.56 thousand people. These are 26.2% and 35.5% higher than the first half of 2017.
