The corresponding agreement between the governments of two countries was signed at the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Poland. The document was signed by Ambassador of Ukraine to Poland Andriy Deshchitsa and Ambassador of Mongolia to Poland and part-time to Ukraine Nemech Bataa.

"Today in Warsaw, our diplomats with their Mongolian colleagues updated the old Ukrainian-Mongolian visa-free agreement. We cancel the Soviet rules and simplify the rules - we have 90 full visa-free days for 180 days without any additional forms and requirements," Vadim Priestayko, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, wrote on Twitter .

When exactly the visa-free regime between Ukraine and Mongolia will begin to operate is not reported.

Deshchitsya specified that Ukraine already has visa-free travel with 88 countries, and with simplified entry to other countries, it is already more than 140 countries. Ukrinform reports.

Until now, a 1979 agreement was in effect between Ukraine and Mongolia, which was signed between the USSR and the Mongolian People's Republic, and then was confirmed by the Ukrainian government.

“But since then the situation has completely changed, the documents have also changed, it has actually become outdated. Therefore, we have brought into line with this agreement a list of documents required for the travels of citizens of Ukraine and Mongolia,” Deshchitsa said.

The Ambassador of Mongolia noted that every year about a thousand citizens of Ukraine visit Mongolia for tourist purposes and for business trips. He noted that Ukrainian tourists will be able to see the nature of Mongolia, nomads, the Gobi desert, plains and Altai mountains. The diplomat noted that Mongolia is interested in cooperation with Ukraine in the field of agriculture and heavy machinery. The ambassador also said that 160 citizens of Mongolia now live in Ukraine, of which 110 are students, undergraduates, and doctoral students.

Recall that in three weeks Ukraine will not have visas with another island country. From November 13, 2019, visa-free travel between Ukraine and Dominica begins to operate.
