On May 23, at the airport "Kyiv" named after Igor Sikorsky, a new space of the Terminal "A" was opened, which increased the total area of ​​9500 sq.m.

"We have decided to expand the international terminal so that the Kyiv residents and guests of the city did not queue during the registration of flights and other necessary procedures in peak hours. Our group systematically reinvests profits in the development of the airport and about 630 million UAH was attracted to the current reconstruction of the new terminal. With our example, we want to show the effectiveness of public-private partnership, especially in infrastructure projects of international importance ", - said the founder of investment group UFuture Vasyl Khmelnytsky.
On the first floor of the new wing of the terminal there will be 13 checkpoints and 9 control points for aviation security. The second floor - 18 racks of emigration control. In the new wing of the terminal will be opened a large Duty Free store, WOG cafe, restaurants of Ukrainian and Spanish cuisine, a fast food corner and several souvenir shops.
In addition, on the square in front of Terminal A, a new parking for 135 places has been built, which will increase total number of parking places by almost 40%.
The opening of the new Terminal A is a gift not only for the residents of Kyiv and passengers, but also for the airport itself, after all the 25th of May is its 95th anniversary.
On May 20, Igor Sikorskyi International Airport "Kyiv" served a millionth passenger in 2019. The airport plans to provide services for not less than 3 million passengers by the end of the year.
